Former EDL leader joins more extreme version of Rebel Media

Joe Mulhall - 24 04 17

The Rebel Media, a far-right Canadian media platform popular among so-called ‘alt-right’ followers, has launched Rebel Edge, a new channel that includes a number of British contributors.

Pitched as a more extreme version of Rebel Media (‘There is no topic we won’t touch. There is no opinion too offensive’), the channel includes content from former English Defence League founder Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (‘Tommy Robinson’) and Caolan Robertson, senior editor of right-wing website, The New Brit.

The pair’s recent video for Rebel Media about the Westminster terrorist attack was the most viewed video concerning events in the whole of the UK. Lennon’s links with Rebel Media goes back some time, having appeared on founder Ezra Levant’s show in January 2016.

The new channel also includes content from Faith Goldy who also has her own show called ‘On the Hunt’, a political science student Jay Fayza and Gavin McInnes, co-founder of Vice Media and the western chauvinist fraternal organisation ‘ProudBoys’.

Recently, both Lennon and Roberston dined with Rebel Media founder Ezra Levant, and glamour model turned anti-Muslim right-wing commentator, Holly Henderson. According to her Twitter account she is currently filming with Robertson for Rebel Media.

Considering Rebel Media published the McInnes video 10 things I hate about Jews, Rebel Edge, which has been trailed as even more extreme and offensive, will be one to watch.
