The BNP has not won a seat in Oldham. There was a rumour that they had taken Chadderton Central but on a recount the Conservatives won the ward.

I bet Roy Goodwin was secretly quite pleased to lose. Victory would have cost him a fortune in petrol driving over from Blackpool.

the recount in Chadderton was between Labour and Tory, not the BNP.

It was the Lib Dems who rang me in a panic saying that there was a rumour that the BNP had won. Glad it was a false alarm because the BNP certainly did not deserve to win anything there. Well down again to Oldham United Against Racism
