About time

The BBC is reporting that the Football Association is planning to strip the England captaincy from John Terry, following the charges of racial abusive he is alleged to have made against QPR's Anton Ferdinand.
This is about time. Last December I wrote a blog calling for Terry to be removed as captain, at least until his trail. (http://www.hopenothate.org.uk/blog/article/1518/remove-the-england-captaincy-from-john-terry)
Racism appears to be on the increase in football at the moment and it is important that the FA send a clear message out to players, clubs and the fans. Terry should have been stripped of his captaincy as soon as the charges were issued but at least they are acting now.

Delighted to hear they're finally doing the right thing. One can't help wondering if they're privvy to details of the case that we the public are not.
