It appears that the BNP has not won anything in Bradford for the first time in several years. The Conservatives have beaten them in Queensbury, a ward with two existing BNP councillors

thanks for writing this really useful blog: RE this result in Bradford - does this mean that Cromie & Cromie are out? Or that they're still in, but Tories have control of the ward?

[Nick replies

I'm afraid that the Cromies are still there but the BNP has failed to take the third seat in the ward.

Well done to Nick and the rest of the team at Hope Not Hate. This is all down to your hard work. Thanks Bradford

Erm - don't think it's solely down to hard work by HNH team - although we did have leaflet drops in November and March (thankyou for those), we didn't see anyone from HNH in Queensbury during the immediate run up to the election. I think most of the credit should go to the sitting councillor and his eight years hard work for the ward.

That is true. Either way it is just great news that the BNP grip on Queensbury has been broken. Here's to booting out the Cromies when the time comes
