Labour has held off the BNP in Ardsley & Robin Hood by just 11 votes. However, for much of the morning and going into the recount it seemed that the BNP had taken the seat.
another great result and it confirms a bad election for the BNP in West Yorkshire

I was shocked to see a BNP councillor on my postal ballot form, and wanted to include a complaint on posting it. This is not democracy! It is racism in action. Fortunately, they did not get many votes, but 11% approx overall in Leeds...that's worrying, bearing in mind that not everyone voted. Thanks for this website. I have learned a lot. Keep up the good work. I hadn't realised just how political parties, and other organisations, were/are battling against the BNP.
