So here we go

The US election is under way and so is my blog. I'm now trying to juggle writing this blog with cooking. I'm hosting an election party tonight so the chilli con carne has been cooked, the ribs are marinating and the potato salad is on the table.

Still to come is seafood gumbo, the black-eyed beans a la shack and buffalo wings.

I've also organised a sweepstake about the election result. I've asked my friends to make a guess about the electoral college breakdown. So far about 22 people have responded and all predict an Obama win. People are pretty confident because everyone is saying he will get well over 300 of the 568 votes available. We'll see, I'm still to make my estimate....
