Lest We Forget

Nick Lowles - 11 11 18

Today we remember all those who have given their lives in war and conflict around the world. Millions of people, from all races, religions and creeds, died whilst serving their country.

We join with the rest of the nation in remembering their sacrifice and in working for peace and against hatred, so that no more lives need to be lost in the future.

Today is even more poignant given that it’s the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

Remembrance Sunday is an important day for reflection for anti-fascists. We remember and honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defeat fascism in Europe.

With the rise of nationalism and racism across Europe today, let us reflect on those who gave their lives for the freedoms we take for granted today and redouble our efforts to challenge the hatred that cost so many lives in the Second World War.
