Spence: With EDL thug leader Stephen Lennon
A lot is currently being said about the alleged arson at a Muslim centre in Muswell Hill in North London. Our own statement on the issue can be read here
What is unsettling is just how many EDL supporters made threats to carry out attacks on Muslim places of worship in the immediate aftermath of the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich, two weeks ago.
Last night, so soon after the alleged arson in Muswell Hill, the EDL’s chief in Newcastle, Alan Spence, once also a senior activist in the BNP, decided it was the right and appropriate time to highlight Mosques in Newcastle and Tyne and Wear for his followers.
Bad timing? Or just bad taste?
