So our nine-month campaign has finally come to an end and there is nothing more we can do. A few County Council results trickled through during the early hours of the morning but the bulk will be counted today. The ballot papers for the European Election will be counted on Sunday night, once the polls close across Europe. One report said that the first results will start to come in at 9.30pm but I’m expecting it to be far later than that.
Over the course of today I’ll be trying to give regular reports on the County Council results as they happen and obviously we’ll be putting up a full list as and when they are all in.
In the meantime I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported the HOPE not hate campaign. Whatever the result it was a truly remarkable effort and quite simply the biggest anti-fascist campaign ever. Set against the backdrop of such a horrendous political climate it is even more remarkable.
Over the course of the last three months we have put out 3,400,000 newspapers and leaflets – dwarfing the efforts on any of the political parties standing, who relied largely on the Royal Mail delivering their election leaflets for them. Over 44,000 people joined our campaign online and almost 1,500 people donated to the campaign over the internet. We ran a huge media operation which placed anti-BNP stories in the newspapers on a daily basis and we sent out almost 600,000 eve of poll emails – the biggest single email in domestic British history.
And none of this could have been achieved without your great support. Whatever the result we can hold our heads up high and say we did everything we could. Thank you.

Thank you so much for all the information you gave out in the run-up to this years election, i think it opened a lot of peoples eyes to the realities of the BNP. I encouraged all my friends to get out and vote, unfortunately, apathy seems to reign supreme, with one friend even going so far as to say he was registering his dismay at the current democratic process in Britain by NOT voting! I couldn't believe my ears, and tried to explain that this method is simply a cop-out. As was said in the past "all it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing" I'm appalled by the number of people willing to risk the triumph of an evil system, simply because they lack the motivation to leave their homes! Nevertheless, I believe that many have seen the truth behind the BNP, largely thanks to your efforts. We must stand up to be counted, or we will be responsible for the return of a system of 'beliefs' and 'ideals' that thousands willingly gave their lives to stop back in WW2. Thank you again for your efforts, and keep it up! May you continue to shine the light into the darkness, and may your voices always be heard. XXX

I think more importantly Nick we need to say a huge thank you to you and the dedicated team around you who have kept people in constant communication and continued to remind people how important each person is in the fight agaisnt discrimination. So well dont Hope not hate team!

Thanks for your effort Nick. I just hope it was all worth it. When you spoke in Liverpool back in Feb you seemed a little under the whether and I'm sure your schedule has been relentless since then. I hope that we can keep this network together and build upon it, even when there is not an election campaign to fight we must fight to counter their lies and convince people that they are not the answer.

Well done Nick. It looks like the BNP boasts may have been kicked into touch. Thank God. I've just been looking at my local results and while there were a number of people did vote Nazi, not one BNP candidate has been elected in Essex.

Ashamed to come from a county who voted a BNP MEP. Unfortunately I found out about the campaign too late to get involved but would love to get on board in the event of a general election (looks like it might be pretty soon) Thanks for all your hard work and well done.
