It seems that the BNP has taken a seat on Lancashire County Council, beating Labour in Padiham and Burnley West. However, they appear to have nothing else in the town.

The Lib Dems could probably have taken this seat also, but did not, principally for lack of funds. Instead, we concentrated on the five we new we could win. If only the Lib Dems had the kind of money at Labour's disposal. Final tally for Burnley's six seats: Labour -6; BNP +1; Lib Dems + 5. And guess which result the national media lead on!
