Yorkshire & Humber

The BNP has won a seat in Yorkshire & Humber. I feel particularly sorry for HOPE not hate Yorkshire who ran a fantastic campaign. They, like the rest of us, have been let down by our politicians. I'm sure they will pick themselves up and continue the struggle but today my heart goes out to them.

Thanks! But it is so devastating.

The result in Yorks nd Humber is no reflection on the Hnh team, they worked their bloody socks off but the politicians had already made a very hard job almost impossible. Chin up comrades we'll see em off next time

I am not surprised but sincerely saddened. It was an inevitable event, (Thanks major political parties) but it is nonetheless a blow for equality in this country. However a single MEP for the BNP is not all bad, he won't have any say in parliament, he'll only be there to tell racist jokes at the christmas party.

The late and unlamented Nazi Colin Jordan would be delighted to know that his little NSM minion had become an MEP.

We cannot blame any of Hnh for anything that has or might happen tonight as devastating and sickening as this development is we can only pray that such an outrage will strengthen the anti-bnp movement still further

Our thoughts and hearts are with you all tonight. The Politicians have let us all down, I have to explain this to my kids when they get up tomorrow. They worked their socks off fighting the BNP, even coming face to face with them. Mr Brown should be explaining how these Nazi's have managed to get a seat - especially Brons! Yours in Unity, Linda.

Shit. Very not good.

This is so depressing. I'm just across the border from Yorkshire, and the BNP vote was up in my area, too. I'm sticking to the hope that it could have been worse if it hadn't been for HNH's campaigning, and I'm waiting to hear the next plan of action! Immi

i'm so sad to be living in a county where people actually believe the BNP are the way forward, i never thought this day would come. I have always been passionate about exercising my right to vote, but have never been a political activist... but I think that needs to change now.... HNH has clearly done a fantastic job leading up to the elections, and anything I can do to help in the future I will. cheers, a very sad yorkshire-man!
