All systems go in Barnsley

Last week we sent out an email to our supporters in Yorkshire asking for their assistance in the crucial by-election in Barnsley. Thirty people responded to the call out - most getting involved with us for the very first time.

This is a report I received from Paul Meszaros, from HNH Yorkshire:

St. Helens ward election up-date

A fantastic day out in Barnsley on Saturday saw thousands of leaflets and direct mails delivered in St Helens ward. Activists from across the County turned out to help including one stalwart who had travelled down from York! Local activists were joined by car loads from Sheffield, Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield and delivered around 4,000 pieces of literature.

An addressed letter to women voters was particularly hard hitting and well received. Hope not hate activists have certainly seized on this opportunity to take on the BNP where they have had a free ride for too long.

Hope not hate will continue to campaign to ensure the BNP do not make a breakthrough in this election.
