Stop this racist charade

Some idiots in the Home Office might be fooled by the English Defence League but the racist agenda of the hooligan gang is becoming more obvious by the day.
At the end of last week the EDL got hold of an email that had been widely circulated by the North West TUC advertising a meeting of trade unions to discuss the planned EDL protest for Manchester City Centre next Saturday. The EDL response was illuminating.
The EDL administrator – who publicly claims not to be racist – riled against “building mosques”, “uncontrolled immigration” and the “multicultural hell hole of a country” Britain had become.
The racist sentiments were also evident in the latest EDL posting to their members, where the woman who has been liaising with police said that many of their followers were planning to wear masks during the protest in opposition to the burka.
Despite the glaring racist agenda of the EDL the Home Office continues to bury its head in the sand. It refuses even to classify the group as right wing and says that they are not linked to hooligans.
If trouble erupts on Saturday the EDL, media and the police may be quick to blame anti-fascists and others. However, the Home Office’s refusal to accept that the EDL is nothing more than a crude racist attempt to whip up hatred and violence should make it at least culpable.

Aah ha, now we're seeing the real EDL the anti fascists have known about for ages, and their supposed non-racism. The term 'multicultural hell hole of a country' is a term that the League stole from none other than Nick Griffin himself!! Their hate can now be QUOTED!! And the meaning of the term, well I'd love to see the EDL top yob explain it (providing he has the necessary grasp of academic English, of course!)whilst vehemently trying to deny his organisation is only against Islamic extremism. Big difference between that and multiculturalism/multiracialism. The first sod of earth has been moved in the digging of their own hole!

I just read this and felt the need to comment...while not a member I do sympathise with the EDL's public stand against muslim extremists, and that in no way makes me rascist. Not even a little bit! This is a word that is used wrongly, so often that people are afraid to speak out in case they get labelled with it by the likes of you. I think the reason there are people against Islam is because, if you bother to find out about the religion and delve a little deeper than the rascist label for anyone that dare criticise it, it is actually quite worrying. People like yourself assume it's just a nice religion like Christianity, ie a bolt on to your life that you can take or leave. Islam is not like that, it's a way of life and all else comes a very distant second. If you bother to read the Koran, or try to understand the basic principles of the religion of submission, then you would know that you cannot apply "rascist" haphazardly to anyone that rightly recognises its incompatability with the West. I fear however that people like you will not realise until it's too late, and your pretentious notion of a "peaceful religion" has destroyed our way of life. Regards John

Re: comment number 2. Are you a Koranic Scholar? I wager not. I suggest it is YOU who delves a bit deeper than what is splashed over the pages of the Daily Star, Daily Express, Daily Mail, extremist websites etc. Comments like yours do not fool anyone (are you a member of the BNP/EDL 'media unit' by chance....shock, horror), clearly you have an agenda and find convenient to scapegoat a minority to meet your evil and divisive political aims. The overwhelming majority of the Muslim population in this country is peaceful. Sure, there are a minority of extremists, just like we have EDL extremists marching up and down the high streets of our cities, proclaiming to be saviours when in fact they are usual collection of cranks, misfits and violent thugs; typically blaming others for their own inadequacies. The EDL is not solely against muslim extremists, it is against Muslims in general....in time soon to be followed by antagonism against other faiths and cultures. It is all too predictable.

Attacks on multiculturalim should be countered with a defence of multiculturalism not simply calls to ban people who's views you disagree with.

re: comment 3. Here, Here. I agree to all you have to say. All too often comments made by ignorant people (like number 2) often swamp blogs like these. They pretend to be all nice and innocent, while simmering underneath their words are hardcore, extremist racism, rotten to the core, vile and disgusting filth!

Nice post you got here. It would be great to read a bit more concerning that matter.
