The day draws to a close

The city centre is now quite peaceful. There are 200 EDL still up at Piccadilly Station, being held by police, but the bulk of the remainder have gone home.

I estimate that in total there were 800-1000 EDL and supporters in Manchester today. Only about half of them got into Piccadilly for the protest, the rest remained on the edges of the square and in the surrounding streets.

Of this number, probably about half were football hooligans and the rest were locals from the Greater Manchester/North west area.

I shall be taking a more detailed look into the EDL supporters when I go through the first batch of photos of the day.

What really annoys me is how the internet neo-Nazi trolls have started in earnest, with a partically racist posting on the Times newspaper by one "Laura Roberts" who while being racist, as customary, denies she is a racist, lol. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article6869327.ece# Keyboard warriors like Green Arrow spend most of their lives online, trying to distort public perceptions of fascist groups like the BNP and the EDL. There needs to be our very own army of "correctors", people to challenge the internet newpaper trolls on the likes of the Daily Mail, Sun and Times websites, plus local Gannet newspaper websites also.

Somebody told me about the Laura Roberts post, so I googled it, and have found this site through doing that. I honestly think you "Harry" are completely mad. There is NOTHING racist in her comment whatsoever - I challenge you to list anything at all that is racist in her incredible, articulate comment on the Times website. You claim she is a neo-Nazi troll! Why can't you accept the fact that she is, like the 300 people who have commended her post in just a matter of hours, and like me, just an average professional, not a member of any party, just minding our own business and struggling with the demise of Britishness and our values. I just had to leave a comment, your kind of paranoid response is so bizarre.
