Ending on a high

HOPE not hate Yorkshire has really been putting the work in for this week's crucial by-election in Barnsley. Yesterday over 45 people delivered our final leaflet across the ward. It was particularly pleasing to have several local people out who had never done any political campaigning before. That they were there in the first place is testiment to the hard work put into this campaign by the HnH team.

Many of those there had come through our email list. We are building a good activist base across the region which bodes well for the future.

Much of our campaign in Barnsley has been targeting women voters. With women far less likely to vote BNP than men, we have hand delivered a letter to every woman in the ward.

There is still work to be done. Election Day is Thursday and we need to help turn out the anti-BNP vote. So, if you can help please drop me a line.

More good news from the Greater Birmingham area. The BNP failed to put forward a candidate for the upcoming Sutton New hall ward by election (Birmingham City) as it has failed to do in Wednesbury in Sandwell.

The BNP don't seem very happy with the result http://bnpelectionresults.blogspot.com/2009/10/by-election-result-for-barnsley-mbc-st.html Well done to everyone who campaigned!
