Welsh Defence League show true colours

The Welsh Defence League showed their true colours on Saturday with nazi salutes and BNP activists in clear show. Humiliated and backed into a pub, the Swansea football hooligans reverted to form. And it was interesting to see several BNP members among the group, including local organisers.

And don’t just take my word for it. This is how the event was reported in the Welsh media: “They denied being fascists ahead of their first Welsh march – but at yesterday’s Welsh Defence League protest against Islamic extremism onlookers were confronted with scenes of jeering men giving Nazi salutes.”

Now, I am wondering whether the English and Welsh Defence Leagues are on the decline? Many who attended in Manchester were so fed up with how they were treated by the police that they are unlikely to turn out again. The pitiful 50 who showed up in Swansea is less than the local hooligan gang would get out on a normal Saturday afternoon.
