Opening a can of worms

The infighting at the heart of the BNP seems set to continue following the party's leadership meeting yesterday. Despite a public declaration of unity the statement released on the internet and the various related blog postings all seemed a little subdued.

And with good reason.

Evidence of alleged fraud and threats to kill by Mark Collett have been supposedly handed over to the police. But is the BNP really keen to have a police investigation into financial irregularities? I really doubt it. And from what I understand Collett has been gathering his own information about financial shenanigans at the very top of the party.

Perhaps this is why the leadership is so subdued on the matter.

With all these fraud allegations and a court judgement pending on their inadequate membership rules: Surely, the electoral commission have a duty to bar the BNP from future participation in any council and national elections. Or I am missing something? Regards the murder threat allegation, Surely if high crime charges are brought against anyone, that person(s) should not be allowed to stand for any public office until the matter is resolved judicially. Again, Am I missing something. I know the law is lax but this is foolhardy and a mockery of justice. At the end of the day, a person could be found guilty and yet not be expelled from parliament and they could use the justice criminal appeals system to drag out the removal process. I have supported George Galloway for many years. His suspension was unjust, and yet it took over 4 years for the Kangaroo parliamentary committee of undesirables to witch-hunt him. There must be an independent body set up immediately to deal with politicians accused of high crimes. Should a fast track system by the electoral commission be now in place? or is it? Please enlighten me.
