Making the commitment

The plans for our 17 April mobilisation are building quite nicely. Just had an email from one of our activists in Greenwich saying that he is bringing three car loads of activists over. Unite the union are finding 30 people to cover one ward and our Basildon and Thurrock organiser has a target of 15 activists to cover another ward during the day. Philosophy Football has agreed to send out an email to its supporters’ list advertising our events and we’ve just uploaded a video appeal from Billy Bragg urging his supporters to come out to defend his home town.
I’ve even just had an email from our Norfolk supporters to say that while they are unable to make 17 April they are putting on a coach to bring people in for 1 May. Fantastic.
Elsewhere in the country we are also active. I’m about to do a ring round of the HOPE not hate network so hopefully I’ll be able to report on what’s going on in other areas later.
