A few minutes ago nominations closed for the local council elections. In most cases local authorities are not going to release the list of candidates standing until Monday but it is clear that we are going to see a record number of BNP candidates.
A while ago I estimated as many as 1,000 candidates. I'm sticking with this estimate but obviously I could be way off the mark – in either direction.
