English Democrats Steve Uncles to appear at Dartford Magistrates’ Court over fraud allegations

Matthew Collins - 27 02 14

An English Democrats regional leader from Dartford is due in court today over allegations of fraud.

Steve Uncles, who heads up the party in the south east, is due to appear before magistrates in the town.

The 49-year-old, of Shears Close, is also the party’s prospective lead candidate in this year’s European elections in the south east of England.

He is accused of “offences contrary to the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act and Representation of the People’s Act”, police said.

Uncles was summonsed to appear before magistrates after an investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, following consultation with the CPS, issued a summons to court to Steven Thomas Uncles, 49, of Shears Close, Dartford, in respect of offences contrary to the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act and Representation of the People’s Act.”
