One of Bradford's BNP councillors who featured in a BBC expose about the party has been sacked from his job as a taxi driver.

Councillor Chris Kirby claims he was sacked after his employers were told they might lose lucrative health service contracts if he kept working.

But Keighley Taxis director, Stuart Hastings, has denied this.

He said it became impossible to retain Mr Kirby following the broadcasting of the documentary.

The 35-year-old councillor, who represents the Worth Valley Ward, said he was being unfairly blamed.

"Five thousand people in Keighley voted us in so if they want someone to take the blame, take the blame out on them, not the one person who is there to represent them," said Mr Kirby.
