HOPE not hate / Searchlight by Matthew Collins | Sunday, 21 March 2010

An estimated 2000 extra people turned up to see the League Two match between Dagenham & Redbridge and Maclesfield Town yesterday.

The extra 2000 people took advantage of a fantastic initiative by the club to have an anti-racist day with tickets for as little as 25p for under 18's and 99p for adults.

Joining the club for the day were "Kick it Out", "Show Racism The Red Card" and Hope Not Hate.

With the match ball sponsored by both Thompsons and the RMT and an excellent comeback from 1-0 to win 3-1, the whole excellent day was captured by the BBC and shown on TV last night.
