The BNP general election manifesto calls for every citizen to be issued with a citizen's assault rifle after completing a period of military training.

The fascist party appears to have forgotten the Dunblane primary school massacre of 1996, in which Thomas Hamilton killed 16 small children and their teacher, and the Hungerford shootings of 1987 in which Michael Ryan arbitrarily shot 15 people before turning his Kalashnikov on himself. The Dunblane massacre led to the present ban on handguns.

Nick Griffin, the BNP leader, should certainly be aware of the risks of guns of all types. He lost an eye when a loaded shotgun he was carrying went off as he was scrambling over a style.

Even air rifles regularly cause injury and occasionally death, which has led to regular calls for the weapons to be outlawed.

The BNP would put the means to kill in the hands of thugs, racists and people with aggressive tendencies. Many town centres are already no go areas late at night when the pubs and clubs empty out their volatile customers high on drink and drugs. Imagine if they had assault rifles as well.
