NF given platform on Tyne Tees - please complain
| Monday, 4 July 2005 Source: TWAFA
Tyne Tees will broadcast a special report tonight (Monday 4th) and tomorrow into the 'rise of the far right' in the North East.
They will be interviewing NF North East organiser 'Paul Hayes', aka Simon Biggs. Biggs is a recidivist shoplifter, violent criminal and associate of football hooligans and neo-Nazis. Tyne Tees seems to be taking his wild exaggerations about the NF's levels of support at face value.
Please contact Tyne Tees urgently and complain. Call 0191 404 8700, email news@tynetees.tv or use the comment form on their website, http://www.tynetees.tv. Stress the NF's racism and homophobia, links to loyalist violence, football hooliganism and racist crime, the Nazi salutes at their march in Newcastle in 2004, etc. Contact TWAFA for more info (0191 272 1211). Also the fact that a 'political party' with fewer than 200 members in the whole country is receiving so much publicity.
If they get enough complaints quickly enough they may even think better of this use of airtime to allow fascists a platform to promote themselves for no newsworthy reason.
Please circulate this on your own networks for the greatest possible response.
