Stop the National Front again this Saturday

The tiny fascist group the National Front was bitterly disappointed with the turnout at its demonstration in Chatham on Saturday 27 August. A mere 31 supporters, including a minibus load from the West Midlands and Cheshire, gathered in Dartford and then moved on to the Victoria Gardens bandstand in Chatham where they were confronted by up to 100 local trade unionists and other anti-fascists and 100 police officers.

If at first you don't succeed, try again, or perhaps the fascists are just gluttons for punishment and ridicule. The NF has called another demonstration in Chatham this Saturday 3 September. The fascists intend to rally outside the police station to protest that the NF was not allowed to parade through the streets last Saturday.

Medway Unite Against Fascism urges anti-fascists to join an anti-NF demonstration outside Chatham Police Station, in The Brook, from 11am on Saturday. Perhaps this time the NF will get the message that they are not wanted in Chatham.

Later in the day, the NF is expected to adjourn to the Bridge Hotel, Westgate-on-Sea, Margate, to watch the England Wales football match on television.
