LEADERS and members of the BNP have vowed to stand by Worcestershire organiser Kevin Hughes, who was sentenced to 30 months in prison.
Mr Hughes, who was the election agent for Redditch councillor David Enderby in his successful campaign in the May local elections, was found guilty of racially aggravated common assault at Worcester Crown Court on May 24.
But West Midlands organiser and deputy leader of the party Simon Darby said they planned to appeal against the sentence and would stand by Mr Hughes, who is currently in Tardebigge's Blakenhurst Prison.
He said they all planned to visit him, adding he had spoken to Mr Enderby, who would also stand by Mr Hughes.
"We are 100 per cent behind Kevin and the day he steps out of prison is the day he gets his job back," said Mr Darby.
