Forum for racism

Over in Stoke-on-Trent the BNP has five councillors including two with some years' experience. But like else-where the BNP councillors did not table a budget proposal. Instead they used it to make racist political points.

Councillor Neil Walker got up and read out a statement to the effect that he could save £3.5 million by removing funding from the Racial Equality Council, sacking all the council's equality and diversity staff, ending grants to the Citizens Advice Service and Ceramica (a celebration of Stoke-on-Trent's ceramic industry) and so on.
