Liverpool’s gangland Nazi winning few fascist friends

Duncan Cahill - 15 01 18

Joseph “Joey” Owens is a man who once had a formidable reputation not just in the British National Party (BNP), but across the whole city of Liverpool where he had a reputation for violence – and a string of convictions to go with it.

Since being dumped by his former boss Nick Griffin (bad for the party’s image, or something..) Owens has run a one-man campaign to expose every other fascist in the United Kingdom as some kind of state plant.

During this fall from grace, people have gone from cowering in his presence to literally giggling at him, the self-declared “Nazi Assassin”.

Owens gives regular updates on his YouTube channel as to who exactly in the British far-right he thinks is on the state payroll. He’s even offered tips on sartorial elegance to his former boss, Nick Griffin.

Owens was back in the news last week when he announced to the world he returning to the electoral fray, standing as a candidate for council in his beloved city. It was big news in Liverpool.

Less than impressed were other far-right failures, most of whom Owens has called a mixture of “perverts, freaks, plants and grasses” in the past six years or so.

One such is Kevin Scott, the failed former toilet salesman from Newcastle.

Scott’s not had much luck with his own far-right political career.

Like Owens, he was a longstanding BNP organiser until Griffin tired of him.

After leaving the BNP, he tried his luck with the tiny British Democratic Party but had to stand down as leader when his colleagues complained they were not keen on regional accents.

Similarly unimpressed by Owens is Jack Buckby, who hangs around as a perennial embarrassment wherever he can sniff an errant penny.

Buckby is no doubt worried that Mr Owens may have copied/stolen the name of his own pet project.
