HOPE not hate Scotland
HOPE not hate Scotland was launched in September 2009 in response to demand. We already have over 5,600 Scots signed up online receiving our E-bulletins with up to date information about what is happening nationally and at a local level.
Many Scots were shocked to see the BNP gaining an average of 2.5% of the vote across Scotland at the European elections on 4th June 2009. Although the threat of real electoral success for the British National Party is not great within Scotland it is dangerous to ignore their presence and dismiss them as irrelevant. The BNP operate by stirring up racial tensions and religious intolerance in local communities. They should not be allowed to operate unchallenged and how we respond is crucial in winning hearts and minds in our local communities.
The HOPE not hate Scotland website should become a source of information for all those concerned about the rise of far right nationally and throughout Europe. We want to make sure that there is a network operating in Scotland that can share information and act locally when the BNP or others aim to spread their hate and create divisions amongst us.
You can pass us information about far right activity in your local community. We rely on people on the ground to send us copies of leaflets being circulated and to tell us as soon it is known that a by-election is in the offing where the BNP, for example are likely to stand candidates. more ...

The racist thugs of the "Scottish" Defence League are planning to march in Edinburgh on the 20th of February. Their attempt to march in Glasgow in November failed miserably when about 50 of them had to be bused out of town by police for their own safety, after they were confronted by hundreds of antifascists.
